Given the success of La fille du regiment in Paris, Donizetti was quick to bring his opera to the Italian theaters. In doing so, he made some alterations to the score giving it a more Italian friendly feel, and so we have La figlia del reggimento. This performance comes from Bologna with a brilliant cast headed by coloratura soprano Luciana Serra.
